Variety show to help purchase service dogs for veterans

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) There will be music, comedy, drama and more when the 2nd Annual Service Dogs for Veterans' Variety Show hits the stage Monday in Grand Island. The June 17 event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Northwest High School auditorium.

Show organizer Chef Anthony says with music from the 1940's to the '8os and all the other entertainment, you're sure to see something you like.

"I guarantee you, everyone who is in a seat at that auditorium will be thoroughly entertained," said Anthony.

Chef Anthony says placing service dogs with veterans in need is an important goal for him.

"There are so many veterans - younger veterans and even Vietnam veterans - that are just falling through the cracks," says Anthony. "They're not getting the help they need. This is an opportunity."

Tickets to the show are $10 and are available now at the customer service counter at the Grand Island Hy-Vee, on line through the Community Foundation web site or may be purchased at the door.
