Viaero Wireless and US Cellular stores burglarized over the weekend

HASTINGS & GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Both the Grand Island and Hastings Police Departments are working together on a burglary spree that affected at least three businesses Sunday evening into Monday.

Hastings Police Chief Adam Story tells Local4 that both the Viaero Wireless and US Cellular phone stores were burglarized. Grand Island Police Captain Jim Duering has also confirmed that the Viaero Wireless location in GI was also burglarized.

Chief Story said that both police departments feel the burglaries are connected, and they're investigating the cases with that in mind. Authorities also confirm they have access to security footage, which is assisting them in their investigation.

Hastings police were dispatched to the Viaero Wireless location in Cimarron Plaza just before 8:30 a.m. Monday, and while investigating the burglary, they learned that the front doors to both Viaero and US Cellular had been smashed in.

The burglars got away with thousands of dollars in phones, iPads and other electronic accessories. Both the Grand Island and Hastings Police Departments ask that if you have any information that may help them in their investigation to please call them immediately.

Keep it with Local4 as this is a developing story.
