Volleyball tournament to benefit area treatment center
Volleyball players of all skill levels will have a chance to shake off the wintertime blues with a Winter Volleyball Tournament December 21 in Hastings.
Teams are guaranteed at least four game in the pool and bracket play tournament. There are competitive and recreational divisions, so anyone can join in.
"You don't have to be a phenomenal volleyball player to come out," said Audra Leichleiter, one of the event organizers. "It doesn't matter your skill level, just bring a pair of shoes. You don't event need knee pads."
The tournament benefits The Bridge of Hastings, which is a residential treatment center for women and their children.
While supported by multiple agencies, Kristine Kasberbauer says they have a targeted area in mind for money raised by the tournament.
"This is dedicated directly toward the medical and dental needs of the women," said Kasberbauer.
Registration is due this week for the tournament and more information can be found
