HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The YWCA of Adams County is helping girls on the hunt for affordable homecoming dresses.

This is the seventh year the YWCA has hosted their Gowns for Good event. Girls searched through racks filled with more than 1,000 dresses of all styles and sizes Monday.
All dresses cost $30 no matter the size, style or length.
"In the past I haven't been able to purchase dresses, because they've been so expensive, but this is amazing," said Kamille Kennard, a first-time event shopper. "It's a blessing to have all of these beautiful dresses for so cheap."
All the dresses are donated by businesses and people in the community.
Carissa Uhrmacher, career services coordinator at the YWCA Adams County, said the goal is to make all aspects of school dances and events more affordable.
"We knew that girls were spending a lot of money on dresses. That can be really tough on people's budgets. We also wanted to make it affordable to do the other things. Girls might want to get shoes, have their nails done, get their hair done, and we want them to be able to afford those extra things," Uhrmacher said.
All the money from the dresses will go toward the YWCA's Zone Program, which is a free after school program for middle school students.
Tuesday is the last day for Gowns for Goods Homecoming Style sale. They'll be open at the YWCA from noon until 4 p.m.
