Youth discover what it’s like to be a firefighter

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. A group of kids from the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ made their way to the Scottsbluff Fire Department to learn from the fire firefighters and even took a tour around.

About 10 kids around the ages of 6 and 14 explored around the day room where the firefighters relax and sleep and around the truck room to take an adventure with the different fire trucks and see the equipment.

The kids learned that the firefighters work two days on with four days off but with those two days, it is a 48 hour continuous shift.

After the tour, one of the students prayed for everyone in the room and hoped the firefighters remain safe during their shifts.
