HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A local school looks to raise their roofs with an annual fundraiser.
Zion Lutheran School hosted their 2nd annual Spring Vendor Show Sunday.
Over 20 vendors set up booths in the gym. People could check out a variety of items, including toys, hand made crafts, toys, clothes and food.
The money raised at the event will go toward roof repairs at the school.
"It's a great place. Zion is awesome," said Misty Riales, PTU president at Zion Lutheran. "We have about 70 kids enrolled right now, and it's great to have a good roof over their heads. We do lots of activities. Our fellowship hall we rent out for pretty much anything."
The roof over the cafeteria, gym and some of the classrooms needs maintenance for typical wear and tear.
Riales said they're trying to raise $80,000 to fix it.
A pancake feed was also part of the event Sunday. All the proceeds raised from that will also go toward their "Raise the Roof" campaign.
The school is also collecting used or gently used shoes through April. All the money they get through that will go toward the campaign.
Railes said they're hoping to get the repairs started this summer once the kids are out of school.
