Bronco football looks to clean up turnovers in second half of season

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After winning its first two games, Hastings College football is in the midst of a three-game losing streak. The Broncos latest loss to top-ranked Morningside is no surprise but in the their losing streak they have turned the ball over eight times.

"I look at three stats: one is red zone defense and red zone offense, two I look at third-downs, if we're getting it on offense and if we're stopping them on defense. Third is the turnover margin and it's just happened at the most inopportune times, especially the last two weeks," Hastings College Football Coach, Tony Harper said. "You're inside the five and you throw a pick six, you muff a punt they're able to control the ball. So those are things that have happened the last couple of weeks that have kind of hurt us big time."

The Broncos minus-three turnover margin ranks in the bottom three of the NAIA.
