The Hastings women's soccer team was able to bounce back from the GPAC Final loss and keep their season alive, as the Broncos picked up a 3-0 win over William Woods University.

It didn't take long for the Broncos to get on the board with a goal in the 16th minute, as Kaitlyn Chavira (SO/Lakewood, CO) was able to send her corner kick to Courtney Doeschot (JR/Omaha, NE) where she ripped a perfect shot into the upper corner to give the Broncos a 1-0.

The Owls played on their defensive game plan in the first half which seemed to contain the Bronco offense during the first 45 minutes. Hastings did out shoot William Woods 5-3 in the first half. Both teams would try to keep their offense attacking but the Broncos would be the ones to show signs of offense as four of their five shots were on goal. The Broncos would take their 1-0 lead into half.

Hastings carried that lead into the second half where they kept their attacking pressure on and the defense would do their job by not allowing the Owls to get even a single shot off in the second half. The Broncos wouldn't find the net until the 72nd minute when Chloe Swoboda (SR/Hastings, NE) would find Alii Dominguez (SR/Colorado Springs, CO) as she would send the ball into the net to extend the Bronco lead 2-0.

The Broncos weren't finished there. With just four minutes left in the game, Jacqueline Gilbert (SO/Chandler, AZ) would put the icing on the cake with a goal of her own off of an assist coming from Carolyn Hopkins (JR/Lincoln, NE). The Broncos would go on to take the match 3-0.

Hastings finished the game out shooting William Woods 14-to-3 with a 8-to-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Sarah Carpenter (JR/Olathe, KS) had a perfect day as she picked up the only save to compete the shutout.

Hastings improves to 17-4 on the season and will play again Saturday Nov. 23rd as they take on host Marion University at 6 p.m. CT for a chance to head to Orange Beach, Alabama.
