Hastings, NE -- For the 12th consecutive season, the Hastings College women's soccer team have secured finishing .500 or above in conference play following a 3-1 win over the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers on Saturday.

The Broncos (8-0-2, 5-0-1 GPAC) got the game going early with a goal in the 10th minute as Rhiannon Castle de Ortega (SR/Newcastle, England) sunk a hook shot to put the Broncos ahead 1-0.

Heading into the second half, still leading 1-0, Hastings looked to add to their lead. This is exactly what they did in the 46th minute when Sally Stoltenberg (JR/Gretna, NE) connected with the net to put Hastings ahead 2-0.

Dakota Wesleyan answered back in the 70th minute to get within one of the Broncos, but this momentum was quickly squashed as Laurie Potvin (SO/Quebec City, Canada) added a goal in the 71st minute to get ahead of the Tigers by two again.

Hastings will take a trip to Omaha on Wednesday to take on the College of Saint Mary Flames. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CST.
