Broncos men's basketball look for continuity

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings College men's basketball team was slotted seventh in the GPAC preseason poll. Last season, the Broncos finished 19-11 (10-10 in GPAC). With seven returning seniors to Bill Gavers squad, the seventh year head coach wants to see consistency.

"We focus a lot right now on ourselves and just being consistent. Consistent with how you're approaching things," Gavers said. "19 of our games came down to three possessions or less. Six of our conference games came down to three possessions or less. So it's really paying attention to the details and trying to find a way to make 2 or 3 more plays every game."

One of the returning seniors is Bart Hiscock who was 2nd-Team All Conference in 2018. Hiscock averaged 14.5 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game last season for the Broncos.

Season opener for Hastings College is Friday, Oct. 25 at Lynn Farrell Arena. Broncos host 23rd-ranked Friends University. Tip-off set for 7 p.m. CT.
