ST. PAUL, Neb. (KSNB) - St. Paul volleyball has been a buzz saw in Class C-1 this season. Not only have the Wildcats failed to lose a game, they have failed to lose a set.
"We don't expect to go the entire season unbeaten in sets. It just shows how consistent we are, every day," St. Paul senior Brooke Poppert said. "It doesn't faze us when some teams get points. We come right back and that helps us when every set, I guess."
The Wildcats have won 48 straight sets this season and are the only team in Nebraska who has failed to lose a set.
"We have kind of created a culture of really high expectations. The girls take every single practice very seriously," St. Paul volleyball coach Michael Koehn-Fairbanks said. "They just really are very coach-able. They take any coaches advice and they try their best to do what you want them to do. I knew coming in that this would be a special group because of how coach-able these girls are."
After placing third in C-1 a year ago, the Wildcats motto is simple this season, "One Step Further."
