Former Sodbuster skipper Stover accepts job with Horseheads

Hastings, NE -- Former Hastings Sodbuster manager Scott Stover will head a new club in 2019. On Friday, the former skipper announced via Twitter he will take over as manager for the Casper Horseheads in 2019.

Stover stepped down as manager of the Sodbusters on July 16 to return home to California and get things in order for the upcoming school year. Team general manager Bryan Frew took over and led the Sodbusters to the Clark Division Championship game.

"Scott came in at the right time," said Frew. "I couldn't be more appreciative. It wouldn't have been as smooth a transition without him."

Frew said he will stay on as full-time manager next summer.

"I really enjoyed it," he said. "I think I did well and got a good response from the guys."

With Frew becoming full-time manager, the Sodbusters will now begin searching for an assistant GM who will focus mainly on the hospitality and advertising.
