(KSNB) - This week's Game of the Week features one of six-man's best in undefeated Harvard, and up and coming Red Cloud.
Harvard gets excited before a game.
In Harvard’s last 28 games they have lost just two games. One in the state title game, the other in the semifinals.
But they still have the same mindset from going winless in 2015 and 2016.
"Be the hunter still, don't wait for things to happen. Everything is earned nothing is given, go out there,” Harvard football coach Scott Trimble said. “We've achieved a level of success and you have a target on you now so embrace it and protect it."
The Warriors are similar, they went winless their first two seasons at the six-man level.
Last year they improved to 5-4 and this season they already have four wins under the belt. Thanks to a defense giving up an average of just 16 points per game.
"They fly to the ball, they break down and make tackles, and our athleticism has improved a lot the last couple of years," Red Cloud football coach Jason Feldt said.
Both teams know it will be a battle.
"Year in year out you know you're gonna get a well-coached team, they're not real big but they're fast,” Feldt said. “They run a bunch of fun stuff on offense and play really good defense."
"One thing they do have on us is some size. They like to hit you and get after you and just try to use their size against you,” Trimble said. “So for us we have to meet that physicality."
As for the Cardinals, they have their minds set on finishing in November.
"Everything has been brewing for this moment, this season. You know god's plan has just came together, and I feel like we're at the prime opportunity right not to take advantage of everything we have right now,” Harvard senior Noah Okraska said. “So I think this is definitely our best shot."
Only time will tell if this is in fact, the Cardinals’ year.
