Grand Island split home opener against North Platte

Grand Island Home Federal had its home opener at Ryder Park. They faced the North Platte First Nationals, who entered the match-up unbeaten, In Game 1, Grand Island's offense stayed hot as they won, 9-5.

Carson Cahoy led the team with three hits with Ace McKinnis not too far behind with two hits.

In Game 2, Home Federal fell in a pitchers dual, 3-2. The loss snapped their five-game winning streak.

Grand Island now sits at 5-3 on the season. They travel to Fremont this Friday, June 26 for a doubleheader. First pitch set for 4 pm.
