HASTINGS, Neb - The Hastings College men's basketball team just could not slow up the No. 2 team in the NAIA as Morningside defeated the Broncos 104-73 Saturday afternoon inside Lynn Farrell Arena.

It's one of those games where Morningside just seemed as if it couldn't miss shooting 60 percent from the floor in both halves eclipsing the 50-point margin in both halves.

Trailing 22-16, the Broncos continued to battle and continued to go through Bart Hiscock (JR/Bennington, NE) as he powered his way to a layup to make it 22-18 with 11:33 to go in the first half.

After getting a stop, Zach Kitten (JR/Hastings, NE) got into the act with an offensive put back to make it 22-20. After a Mustang bucket, Kitten would draw a foul and get it back to within two at 24-22 with 10:21 to go in the half.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, the Mustangs would begin to build a double digit lead as Hastings could not keep pace. Morningside took a 54-42 lead into the halftime break.

The Broncos would manage to get the game back within nine points on an and one from Kevin Miller (SR/Watts, CA) early in the second half but Morningside would pull away for the win.

Hiscock led the way for Hastings scoring a game high 27 points on 8-of-18 shooting while also pulling down eight boards. Miller just missed a double-double scoring 12 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Miller and Logan Cale (JR/Lincoln, NE) led the team with four assists each.

Alex Borchers led the Mustangs with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting while going 4-for-8 from behind the arc.

Morningside finished the game shooting just over 60 percent from the floor while Hastings finished at just over 38 percent.

Hastings falls to 8-3 (4-2) on the year and will be back in action Tuesday Dec. 4 as Bellevue comes to town with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. in Lynn Farrell Arena.
