Hastings, NE -- The Hastings College women's soccer team was able to keep their unbeaten season alive with ease in the Cypress Risk Management 2018 GPAC Women's Soccer Tournament, taking down the College of Saint Mary Flames 6-0 on Saturday in a quarterfinal match.

Hastings (14-0-3) was able to get things going right off the bat, with Rhiannon Castle de Ortega (SR/Newcastle, England) getting the ball to Courtney Doeschot (SO/Omaha, NE) who found the net 45 seconds into the match.

Less than four minutes later, Doeschot returned the favor, assisting Castle de Ortega with her goal to double the Broncos' lead.

The Broncos struck again in the 21st minute, with Sally Stoltenberg (JR/Gretna, NE) connected with Janine Lahey (SR/Colorado Springs, CO) who got the goal and a 3-0 lead for Hastings.

One more time the Broncos scored in the first half, as Madison Taylor (SO/Olathe, KS) was able to get her first goal of the season in the 42nd minute, and Jacqueline Gilbert (FR/Chandler, AZ) also collecting her first collegiate assist on the goal.

With the Broncos' 4-0 halftime lead still standing, Maleia Lark (SR/Colorado Springs, CO) was able to alter that with a goal in the 65th minute.

The final goal of the game came in the 88th minute when Samira Selimovic (JR/Gracanica, Bosnia and Herzegovina) was able to get the ball to Kaitlyn Chavira (FR/Lakewood, CO) who finished with the goal and the 6-0 lead for the Broncos.

Next for the Broncos is a matchup with the No. 5 seed Briar Cliff, the only team to upset a higher seed in the quartefinal. Kickoff against the Chargers will be Saturday at 6 p.m.
