Hastings men's soccer shuts down Midland

Hastings, NE -- The Hastings College men's soccer team kept their dominnce going in GPAC play when they blanked the Midland Warriors 4-0 on Saturday at Lloyd Wilson Field.

The Broncos (11-2, 8-0 GPAC) got things going from the start, with Fernando Lisboa (JR/Piracicaba, Brazil) scoring the go-ahead goal off an assist by Callum Watson (FR/Chelmsford, England) in the 2nd minute.

Kieran Harrison (SO/Stoke, England) saw himself in an uncommon stats column in the 26th minute: assist. He got the ball to Jonathan Lopez (SO/Omaha, NE) who doubled the Broncos lead over the Warrirors.

Coming out of halftime with a 2-0 lead, Watson got another assist when he fed the ball to Francisco Arevalo (SO/Salinas, CA) in the the 55th minute for his first collegiate goal and a 3-0 lead.

The final goal of the game came in the 81st minute when Daniel Whitehall (SR/Warrington, England) took a shot that went wide of the goal, but took a fortunate bounce off a defender and went in for an own goal.

The Broncos will take the field again on Saturday in Sioux Center, IA, to take on the Dordt Defenders for a 3:15 p.m. CST kickoff.
