Hastings wins Team State Title for the first time since 1988

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings High wrestling team entered the season with high hopes of winning a Team State Title.

The Tigers pose for pictures after being crowned the Class B State Champions.

The Tigers were returning nine wrestlers that had qualified for the State Tournament a year ago.

On Saturday, those hopes became a reality.

The Tigers had already won the State Duels championship, but were hungry for more.

They dominated their district, sending 13 wrestlers to the State Tournament in Omaha.

That dominance only continued in Omaha, as the Tigers took home the Class B Team Title for just the second time in school history.
