St. Cecilia is a day away from beginning it's Class C2 title defense at the State Tournament. With a record of 23-3, the Hawkettes are the three seed in a deep class. While they may not be coming in as the top team in C2, no one is taking them lightly.

"That bulls-eye on your back gets a little bit bigger. It's tough to play like that when you put added pressure on yourself," St. Cecilia girls basketball coach Greg Berndt said. "So we've had the kids be like go do the best you can, go compete, go have fun playing basketball and that's the way we're going to treat this state tournament."

"This whole season we've had a huge target on our back," St. Cecilia senior, Makenna Asher said. "I mean defending state champs and we just have a ton of rivals. So, I just think it's important that we just play together as a team and that's how we play best."

St. Cecilia play Superior in the first round Thursday, March 5. Tip off at 8:45 p.m. at Lincoln North Star
