"He's not the fastest guy, he's not the best tackler. At times he messes up some things but he communicates, guys respond to him, he never gets rattled," Hastings College Head Coach Tony Harper said. "He's just a good person and he understands exactly what we're asking of him."

Kennedy has started the last two and half years for Harper and is not shying away from being a guy the underclassmen look up too.

"I just want to play my role. Cheer on the other guys. Just be the best leaders I can be. Just encourage those guys," Kennedy said. "Even if I'm not on the field help them out as well."

Kennedy and the Broncos hit the road this Saturday, Sept. 28 traveling to face Doane University.
