KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The University of Nebraska- Kearney football team fell to rival Fort Hays State on the road, 37-31. It was a tale of two halves for the Lopers but what stayed consistent was the Tigers ability to convert on third down against the Lopers. They converted 9 for 14 of their third downs on the Loper's defense.
"We just got to the thing with third down, we gotta do a better job on first and second down," UNK Football Head Coach, Josh Lynn said. "However, they did hit some big third downs on us. One thing we gotta do is when the ball is in the air we have to make plays on it and get in-completions."
The Lopers face a tough test this Saturday, Nov. 2 when they welcome in 11th-ranked Central Missouri. Kickoff set for 12 p.m.
