KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska-Kearney football team is prepping for its first bowl game since entering the MIAA in 2012. With the Washburn loss still fresh on their minds, the Lopers are looking for redemption in Excelsior Springs.

"We're fired up. Excited about the opportunity," UNK football coach Josh Lynn said. "Sometimes these things don't come around very often so we're going to take advantage of it."

"We're coming into the bowl game with a different mindset. Kind of attack more, be who we were when we played the ranked teams earlier in the season," UNK running back David Goodwin said

Lopers and Winona State (8-3) take the field Dec. 7. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CT.
