Loper football opens up spring practice looking to improve on strong 2019 season
The Nebraska-Kearney football team took Foster Field for the first time in 2020. Last season, the Lopers finished the season 7-5 and won the Mineral Water Bowl.
Head Coach Josh Lynn has improved the team's record in each season since he took the job. Now in his fourth year at Kearney, Coach Lynn was excited to take the field with his new squad.
"I'm ready to get back. I mean we ended on a positive note. You know another thing too is we lost a lot but we also got a lot back too," Coach Lynn said. "I mean we got a good nucleus. Got our quarterback back. Got a good little group of running-backs back. Interior defensive line we lost a couple but we got a good group of guys that are coming back that are all in all, a better all-around group in that regards."
UNK lost 10 All-MIAA players from last year but return the reigning 2019 MIAA Freshman of the Year in QB T.J. Davis. The Lopers practice for the next month, leading up to their spring game on Friday, April 10.
