KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team (30-0) is once again the top seed in the MIAA tournament. For the first time, the tournament will be held in Kansas City after the last three years it has been held at the Health and Sports Center in Kearney.

The Lopers are the three-time defending champs, their last loss coming in 2015 to Central Missouri.

For the second time in school history, the Lopers had an undefeated regular season. The first coming in 2004 when they finished, 33-0. Due to their perfect season, Head Coach Rick Squiers squad is sitting pretty heading into the eight-team tournament.

"We want to win but we don't have to win. We're going to play beyond that tournament and we're one of the few teams in this region who can probably say that," Squiers said. "So, what we told them is we're going to come into practice this week, we're going to do a little tinkering and do some things that are on my mind that maybe we were afraid to try because we were winning. We're going to try some things and see if we can find another level, especially offensively."

The Lopers first match is against eighth-seed Missouri Southern St. on Nov. 21. Match set to start at 5 p.m. CT.
