HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) The NSAA cancelled the spring sports season, including all district and state competitions. With the season officially over, hundreds of seniors across Nebraska do not get to play their final season.

In the case of the Hastings girls soccer team, they were coming off their second State Tournament appearance in three years. The Tigers had 10 seniors on the roster. Because of that, they had high expectations coming in, but now the will never know what the season had in store.

"It's heartbreaking because we grew up playing together and this was the most exciting year for us and now it just got ripped away," Hastings senior, Sara Pedroza said.

"I'm just thankful that I got to practice a few days with them," Hastings senior Kate Delaney said. "Our relationship, the relationship I built with these girls will last a lifetime. So, that's something that I'm thankful for but it's hard."

The 2020 spring sports season may be lost to seniors but the memories they made along the way will never be forgotten.
