Tri-City Storm enjoying hot start to 2018-19 season

KEARNEY, Neb. -- With how terrible last season ended for the Tri-City Storm, I don't think anybody could have expected a hot start from this year's team, but that's just what we've gotten through eight games.

The team is now 6-1-1, with both losses coming in the past three games.

To put this into perspective, you have to realize how bad the end of last year was. The team lost 13-straight games and still made the playoffs. That's how good they were in the early part of the year before injuries ravaged their season.

Now, it's a new batch of kids on the ice, and so far they're healthy and they're good!

"They're not used to losing, and that's always a good thing," said Kendall Grayson, Tri-City Storm Director of Media Relations. "It's been a great season. They got off to their best season at 5-0, but they were able to pick up a win here in this building last night."

After taking the ice for three games this past weekend, they'll hit the road for just two starting Friday this week as they visit in-state rivals Omaha and Lincoln back-to-back.
