KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB). Kearney High football began the first day of practice for its 2019 season. The Bearcats look to rebound after a lackluster 2018 where they finished 5-5.
Kearney High opens up 2019 fall camp
Head Coach Brandon Cool enters his 19th season with Kearney and is looking forward to seeing what his talented roster can do after a tough schedule did them no favors last season.
Among the returners is Princeton commit Miko Maessner, star wideout Seth Stroh and two-way player Jaxon Worley looking to get the Bearcats back to the Class A State final for the second time in four seasons.
Under center, the Bearcats lost starter Brayden Miller from last season. The front runner is senior Collin Murray but Coach Cool said junior Preston Pearson could give him a fight this camp.
Kearney opens up its season as always against rival Grand Island at home on Aug. 30.
