Grand Island, NE-- Hope Harbor announces a $1.6 Million campaign to buy and renovate the Countryman Associates Building at 615 W. 1st. St. and add 32 beds.

The announcement came at a press conference Friday morning at Hope Harbor in Grand Island. The offices will be moved from their current location at 610 W. Division St. to the new location.

Hope Harbor serves homeless and near homeless women, children and families by providing safe shelter, meals, counseling and educational programs. The organization has had a waiting list since October 2012 for women and children to get in, so there is a big need for expansion.

Construction is expected to start sometime this summer.
