According to the Nebraska Department of Roads, Interstate 80 in Nebraska re-opened in both directions at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Some travelers were fortunate to miss the bad weather.
"I actually held off on leaving until this morning because of it," said Shawn Irwin.
Irwin is taking a trip from Michigan to Colorado but he decided to wait to leave Michigan until Wednesday morning after hearing about bad weather.
"Just basically heard it was blizzard conditions through all of the plains states," said Irwin.
Luke Wohlgemuth was right in the middle of the storms. He lives outside of Milford and didn't have much of a chance of traveling into Lincoln because of Tuesday's weather.
"They closed the interstate down and I actually couldn't get out of my house either...cause of the...snow drifts right in front of my farm...." said Wohlgemuth.
