A Scottsbluff man is arrested for intent to distribute after traffic stop

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - An alleged altercation leads officers to arrest one for possession with the intent to distribute along with other charges.

According to the affidavit, police were called to an establishment on 5th avenue for a report of an altercation between two individuals including one having a weapon. Once arriving police noticed a van pulling away and performed a traffic stop on that individual.

Due to the report of a weapon, officers searched Benjamin Paez. During the search Paez continued to reach for his left pocket. Officers searched and located two bindles, which later was field tested for methamphetamine, as well as baggies known to be used by dealers. Officers also located a pipe and $838. Inside the vehicle officers also located an open 12oz beer bottle.

Paez is facing possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance and possession of an open container. His bond has been set at 10% of $86,000.
