Gering, NEB A new program is set to help Gering High School students get their foot into the door of the manufacturing world.

Will Larson becomes Gering High School's first Youth Registered Manufacturing Apprentice. The apprenticeship is a formal program through the Department of Labor that focuses on helping kids in high school get hands on experience in manufacturing for students in the skilled and technical trades career pathway.

Will took part in a signing ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the occasion.

His apprenticeship is with CS Precision Manufacturing and gets the opportunity to apply classroom skills directly in a workforce environment.
