GERING, Neb. Vetter Health Services is celebrating over 200,000 working time hours of being injury free with a steak and chicken lunch.
In the last 13 years, this is the second time they have hosted a free meal for going injury free for one year or 200,000 working hours.
The last time this occurred was in October of 2016.
At this moment, the staff has been injury free for 345 days.
“In the healthcare industry, it’s almost a rarity to work that long without an injury,” explained Edward Remm, Safety Coordinator.
Remm visits the center frequently bringing ideas to keep the staff injury free.
“We try to make sure we have staff where they need to be so we can properly care for our residents as well as properly care for our team members,” explained Remm. “We provide all the equipment and the tools that are needed including mechanical lifts.”
They have been ranked in 8th place in the country for overall community satisfaction and 1st place for team member satisfaction.
