Chadron Police Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over results

CHADRON, Neb. The Chadron Police Department participated in the statewide ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ grant from December 13th through January 1st.

During this time, they received the opportunity for overtime shifts to focus on impaired driving enforcement.

Chadron Police Department was awarded $2,300.00 to provide overtime shifts for nine officers and five dispatchers.

These officers made approximately 124 traffic contacts during this time with 145 traffic violations being addressed.

These include;
- 3 driving under the influence arrests
- 1 Zero Tolerance driving under the influence arrest
- 6 driving under suspension/revocation citations/arrests
- 6 narcotic violations
- 3 speeding citations
- 5 minor in possession of alcohol
- 5 felony arrests
- 3 open containers
- 2 warrant arrests

The most common reason for the traffic contacts were for equipment violations on vehicles, followed closely by stop sign violations.

Nearly every contact during the grant enforcement period was with a sober driver and the majority of all stops resulted in warnings.
