Chadron Police thank community for helping spread holiday joy

CHADRON, Neb. - (KNEP) - The Chadron Police Department is thanking the community that helped in providing a happier holiday experiences for kids.

The department’s Shop with a Cop event saw nearly $9,000 in donations and gave 182 kids a chance to experience a happy holiday. That did not include all the non-cash donations including food and the gift cards that were also provided.

That event was on top of the department’s second annual Turkeys for Tickets event. Spreading joy throughout the town officers gave 20 turkeys and hams to people they pulled over instead of a traffic ticket.

The Chadron Police Department will continue to take donations throughout the year for the next Shop with a Cop campaign.
