Chase on I-80 ends with Wyoming Troopers using spike strips

UNDATED, - (KNEP) - Wyoming Highway Patrol assists in safely bringing a chase that began in Nebraska to an end by using spike strips.

According the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Monday morning pursuit began on Interstate 80 in Nebraska and headed west towards the state border. Troopers report the car reached speeds in excess of 100 mph before the tires were deflated by spike strips. Around milepost 367 on I-80.

19-year-old Nathaniel Garcia of Aurora, Colorado was arrested on charges of eluding, driving under suspension, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving. He is currently lodged at the Laramie County Detention Center.

Cheyenne Police Department along with Nebraska State Patrol assisted during the pursuit.
