City of Alliance instructs citizens to stay off roadways

ALLIANCE, Neb. The City of Alliance crews are working to clear the streets.

The City is asking their residents to remain off the streets as conditions are not safe for travel.

There are large snow drifts between five to seven feet that are widespread across the community.

The City says there is a layer of ice beneath the snow which is making snow removal a challenge.

With these conditions, the City is reporting numerous vehicles stranded which is adding onto the problem.

They say cleared access is required to allow plows and emergency equipment to do their jobs.

The City says the best thing citizens can do is stay home and wait for city crews to clear the streets.
