City of Scottsbluff takes proactive approach to pedestrian safety

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - The City of Scottsbluff partners with Nebraska Department of Transportation and BNSF Railway to make a portion of Avenue I crossing pedestrian friendly.

The three have agreed to add an extra crossing arm on the west side pedestrian crosswalk over the Avenue I tracks to allow for more walkability.

It is unknown at this time when the project will begin and how long it will take. The City is funding the project and will oversee everything with BNSF doing the project.

This is in conjunction with the Monument Valley Pathway Project which the city is spearheading to allow for more access to pedestrians and make it easier to walk around town.
