LINCOLN, Neb. - (KNEP) - A former Scottsbluff man will spend just over seven years in prison for possessing child pornography.
United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced 31-year-old Cody Metter will also see 12 years of supervised release and register as a sex offender.
In March of 2018, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reviewed a tip sent in by the social media company called Snapchat. It contained child pornography that had been uploaded by an IP address connected to Metter.
During an authorized search of his Scottsbluff home in August of last year, officers located 1,700 videos and more than 25,000 images of child pornography on his computer. Metter admitted to receiving and downloading child pornography since he was 11 years old.
