March Madness could have a lot of local flavor when the NCAA tournament brackets are filled.
Former WNCC player Vinnie Shahid was a key member of North Dakota State's run through the Summit League Tournament. Including scoring 22 points in the title game to upset Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday night 73-63. With the win North Dakota State will play in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in school history.
Meanwhile another former WNCC player Scottsbluff native Trent Harris will look to help his Northern Colorado team seal a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Bears are the two seed in the upcoming Big Sky Conference Tournament. They will open play on Thursday night against the winner of Southern Utah and Idaho State. The winner of the Big Sky Conference Tournament moves into NCAA Tournament.
