SIDNEY, Neb. A new tech company opens its doors in Sidney.
G.L. Huyett is a manufacturing distributor that makes and distributes non-threated fasteners including machine keys and bushing grease fitting cotter pins.
The company is based out of Minneapolis, Kansas.
CEO Timothy O'Keeffe has always thought of things in the bigger picture.
O’Keeffe heard about Sidney and Cabela’s and was looking for candidates for a lot of corporate jobs to fill out the economics platforms including merchandising and other similar roles.
O’Keeffe was blown away by the talent in Sidney and even spent a couple weeks getting to know people.
They then thought it would be a great fit for the company based on the talent pool to move to Sidney and it would fit in with the culture.
“I believe it is a community of communities building communities,” said Sarah Sinnett, Vice President of Marketing and Technology. “We really want to give back to the community and have core ethics here as well. It is really important to the company and having that within Sidney is a good spot for us to put our roots down.”
They will be posting their job availability in the next few weeks.
They are really looking to fill a merchandising role.
“We will grow slowly,” said Sinnett. “We are never going to be a huge employer exactly like Cabela’s was but he saw the value of having a remote office here and having operations here. We will continue to grow with it over time.”
They are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm and located at 1041 9th Avenue in Sidney.
You can head to their website at huyett.com for their full product line.
