Gering City Council meetings to be teleconference and open to public

GERING, Neb. - (KNEP) - Out of precaution, City of Gering will hold their city council meetings through teleconferencing.

Starting Monday, March 23rd City Council meetings will be done teleconference until further notice.

This is being done as a result of Governor Pete Ricketts executive order allowing a limited waiver of the Public Meetings Law. This order allows all governing bodies to meet by video or telephone conferencing.

These meetings will still be accessible to the public. You just have to call in to 641-715-3580 and use the access code #819549. City officials will provide a call-in number and access code for future council meetings through notice and news releases. They will also be available on the city website.

In addition to Monday night’s meeting, there will be a teleconference special Gering City Council meeting on March 27th at 12p.
