Gering Senior Center offers curbside and delivery service to seniors

GERING, Neb. 20 senior centers throughout the Panhandle are currently impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; shutting down their congregate settings.

Meals can include chicken, sandwiches, potatoes and tons more. To qualify, the seniors just needs to be 60 years of age and older. This service is offered daily from 11:30am to 12:30pm. (Mike Pelster)

The Gering Senior Center is offering a curbside pickup and delivery service to their seniors to help.

The meals each day varies but can include oven fried chicken, chicken dinner meals, sandwiches, potatoes and much more.

To qualify, the senior needs to be 60 years of age and older.

It is especially important to keep them fed during these hard times.

“We are trying to keep them fed because as in any situation, if we can keep the nutrition to them, that’s the most important thing,” said Cheryl Brunz, Executive Director for Aging Office of Western Nebraska.

This service is offered daily from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

All of the senior centers are in need of volunteers.
