Gering firefighters continue to see great progress with California fire

GERING, Neb. The Gering firefighters are continuing to battle the wildfires north of Santa Rosa, California.

These firefighters continue to do their assignments including back hauling, removing equipment and seeking and destroying anything that could potentially ignite the fire. (Gering Fire Department)

The firefighters state that things are finally beginning to slow down.

They continue to do their assignments including back hauling, removing equipment and seeking and destroying anything that could potentially ignite the fire.

They continue to hold the line and their IMT reports no further growth of the fire.

They will continue to be assigned to Division Alpha.

Each day, they work 16 hour days with eight hours of rest while resting in the fairgrounds tents.
