Gering man charged with child abuse to appear in court Thursday

GERING, Neb. - (KNEP) - A Gering man will be in court later this week for a preliminary hearing and a bond review stemming from a child abuse case.

According to court documents, three juveniles told officers during a CapStone interview that Jose Gonzalez allegedly has punched them in the stomach, hit them over the head with a cell phone and kicked them in the legs.

The juveniles also stated Gonzalez has allegedly thrown items in the past and has gotten into verbal altercations in the past with another adult.

According to the affidavit evidence was taken of a recording of Gonzalez allegedly threatening to kill the adult if they ever left.

His bond is currently set for 10% of $150,000 while facing three counts of intentional child abuse, one count of third degree domestic assault and one count of making terroristic threats. Gonzalez will appear in court on Thursday, October 24th.
