SCOTTS BLUFF COUNTY, Neb. - (KNEP) - A Gering man will find out how long he will spend in jail after entering a plea deal stemming from a July sexual assault case.

According to court documents, 40-year-old Joseph Smith will plead guilty or no contest on two counts of first degree forcible sexual assault and two counts of third degree non-injury sexual assault.

For the plea, Smith will see two counts of first degree forcible sexual assault dropped. This all stems from allegations that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old multiple times from April to July of 2019.
