GERING, Neb. The Legacy of the Plains Museum received a check for $1,500 from the Octoberfest Revived Committee.

The proceeds came from their annual October celebration and will be used to maintain the museum.

Over the last three years, The Octoberfest Revived Committee has donated $4,500 to the Legacy of the Plains Museum.

“It’s incredible,” said Amanda Gibbs, Executive Director for Legacy of the Plains Museum. “That’s one of the things I love about this community. Everybody is so giving. I love seeing those organizations support us and we can continue to support them.”

The museum has received a total of 19,000 visitors in 2018. 2,000 of the visitors were students from 31 schools across 16 counties.

They would like to receive 20,000 visitors by the end of 2019.

They currently have a display about horses in the valley. It will be hosted there until February 15th.

They will receive the Water Ways Smithsonian Exhibit on February 23rd.
