Gering native and former Eastern Wyoming Community College rodeo athlete Riley Pruitt representing the area this month at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Pruitt is making his second trip to the NFR in tie-down roping, he qualified back in 2016.
Last night in go round number five he placed second in the event with a 7.7. Ty Harris took the top spot with a 7.4 go round.
Currently Pruitt sits eighth in the average and fifth in the world standings with a yearly earning of $150,997 dollars.
In addition Canadian Orin Larsen in bareback is currently second in the world standings. Larsen has ties in the town of Gering.
National Finals Rodeo action continues tonight in Las Vegas and will run through Saturday night.
