NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)- UPDATE:
Nebraska Department of Transportation said both east and westbound lanes of Interstate 80 are back open.
Westbound lanes resumed traffic around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Plows are still out as of Friday morning working to clear the way.
Expect some continued drifting so please travel with caution. Do not use your cruise control and always buckle-up.
Roads Officials say they will start opening roads slowly and carefully. I-80 Eastbound is beginning to open in the Panhandle and other roads in the region.
I-80 West Bound will be opening from Big Springs to the Wyoming Line and to I-76 to Colorado.
I-80 West Bound remains closed from Kearney to Big Springs.
Traffic is advised to drive slow, expect blowing snow and areas of reduced visibility.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 80 westbound at the Kearney exit.
Highway 30 is also closed along that stretch.
Eastbound I-80 is closed form Lexington to Wyoming.
State officials are trying to keep vehicles off the road in that part of the station due to blizzard conditions.
Other road closures in the western part of the state include Ft. McPherson Road South of Brady, State Farm and Walker roads at Buffalo Bill Road, and North River Road.
