GERING, Neb. A group of Student Council students at Lincoln Elementary are helping to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma.

This is day one of their Pennies for Patients fundraiser and they hope to collect $1,200 by February 22nd.

The students are working to collect the funds from their fellow classmates but if anyone in the community is interested, you can drop off the money at Lincoln Elementary.

For these students’, they said they are honored to help anyone in need.

“It’s great because we are able to help other kids who are put in a very difficult position,” said Aphia Boyd, 5th Grader. “We couldn’t really relate to that but we can help donate.”

Once all of the money is collected, they will drop it off at the hospitals who help with Leukemia and Lymphoma research.
