US Open Set To Begin Today (NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff)

Scottsbluff, NEB Mitchell High School grad and Western Nebraska native Nate Lashley is set to play in his first US Open Golf Tournament starting Thursday at Pebble Beach in California.

Lashley qualified for his first major tournament by winning a sectional tournament in Milton, Ontario in Canada. It took a playoff hole for him to clinch the sectional win and now he will play with the world's best golfers.

Last season saw ups and downs for Lashley in his first year on the PGA tour. He would make the cut in eight events but saw his season come to an end due to a knee injury.

He will tee off at 1:30pm MST and will play with Renato Paratore, and Lee Slattery.
